Bob

I wonder if you could help or know someone else from your part of the world who might be interested.

The attached plan for the proposed sale and re-use of the ex Leeuwin site is of considerable interest to the naval community and we should like to addressed this in a suitable article in our magazine. There is also plentiful material in another website which has Brian Adam’s full history of the establishment  http://www.navy.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/PIAMA29.pdf. If this link does not work try Google “Seapower Centre HMAS Leeuwin”.

Papers in Australian Maritime Affairs No. 29 HMAS Leeuwin: The Story of the RAN’s Junior Recruits Brian Adams No. 29 Papers in Australian Maritime Affairs

We are thinking of something of 2,000 words or more (say three pages) with a few photos. The article needs to cover the good and the bad including alleged child abuse issues. The March edition of our magazine is about to hit the streets and if possible we should like to run this in the June edition.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest regards

Wally

Leeuwin as we Knew it will soon be nothing but a memory in the minds of a few old Sailors.. But what memories they are.
