65th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLES OF KAPYONG & MARYANG SAN

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the Battles of Kapyong and Maryang San in Korea.

To commemorate the 65th anniversary, my office has produced a biography on each of the 34 Western Australians who died in the war.

As many of these men would have completed their schooling in Western Australia, I have written to every high school in Western Australia drawing their attention to these biographies. It is my hope that school students use these biographies to undertake further research on these brave Western Australians.

These biographies can be accessed from the Veterans Portfolio web page at the following link:

I would be grateful if you could circulate this correspondence to your membership.

Yours sincerely

HON JOE FRANCIS MLA
