Soldier On BBQ raises funds for veterans

Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Dan Tehan today praised the contribution of Australia’s
ex-service organisations as he attended a BBQ hosted by Soldier On to raise funds for veterans.

Mr Tehan said the Government and Soldier On shared a common goal to provide the best possible care and support to former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families.

"Our ex-service organisations, like Soldier On, play an important role in the community by providing support to our former ADF members," Mr Tehan said.

"The services offered by Soldier On complement those provided by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and we are working together to improve support and services for our veterans."

Mr Tehan said ex-service organisations would provide vital input to the Prime Minister’s Veterans’ Employment Program later this month.

"Ex-service organisations will join captains of industry and government leaders to help map a way forward so even more veterans find meaningful employment and our businesses can harness the unique skills our ADF personnel offer," he said.
